POL
I hope the POL Night for the Beyond the Border is the only one we have to do for this semester...We only have like 2-3 weeks after Thanksgiving Break of actual school, so I guess we would do a POL on other projects we did, like the Inca Project, Water Quality Project and other stuff we did....
Mexico Trip Rescheduled
Our Mexico Trip was also rescheduled because of the wildfires, so now we are going November 5-7...So that means even less time to finish our video...Spencer and Anne pushed our deadline for the POL back like a week I think...Still not very much time to finish, maybe like 2 weeks to finish the whole thing.
Beyond the Border
Well, today was our first day back from our vacation, even though some people probably didn't get much time off...We (Julian, Jesse and I) worked on our Vegas, and we got our green dot for the Flash introduction and we wanted to start working on the actual Vegas file. So far we have Jesse's interview on there and the Flash introduction...We also split up the script into what each person is going to say so we could be ready when people are done with recording booth so we can record our voice overs and narration. We also have to film a few sections with Julian at a desk, so we have to do that soon so we could do the video.

So Far...
Well, I haven't blogged in a long while because of the fires (my house isn't in danger) but many relatives houses were and came down to stay with us. I really don't like all the fire stuff....>.<
Now we can't go to Mexico....and Anne told us (like 12-15 students) to eat all the fruit that had been purchased for the trip.
On our Beyond the Border porject, Jesse redid his Flash so it was shorter like Spencer asked and changed the name from 60 Cents...Julian and I finally got Jesse's interview onto a computer FINALLY after like 3-4 weeks of the tape sitting in my backpack...So we have about 2-3 minutes of interview, but we're going to need to cut it into pieces and edit it, so it's more like 2 minutes...with out Flash we have almost half of our film done =D

Water Quality Testing
We did the Water Quality Testing field trip yesterday and the place our group did our testing did look or smell that clean...The water looked kind of murky and smelled like sewage...we were testing relatively close to a pipe so that might have been the problem...I wonder how many places we are going to test at in Mexico...
I'm excited to go down to Mexico and do all the things Anne/Spencer have planned, the people with tents at school had to set them up and surprisingly there were a lot of tents. I'm just wondering how large the campsite is

Beyond The Border
We showed Spencer our new script and name yesterday. He didn't read the script...We just turned it in...We also had to show him our Flash to get it checked off. He didn't really like the part with all the flying around Jesse did, so now we have to change that...

Script
Script is just about done....Jesse thought of a new name for our documentary, Purely Water. Hopefully, Spencer will like this on better than our previous one...We (Julian and I) added a lot of citations and tomorrow we will have to finish the conclusion, even though tomorrow is when it's due, because we can't finish it tonight...We have about 4-5 pages and we still haven't seen Jesse's interview, its been like 3 weeks and we still weren't able to move it from the tape to the computer...We have to get that done also...

Script for Beyond the Border
Well, our script for our Beyond the Border project is just about complete...Julian did most of the revisions and citations today in class when we had work time...I think that we are pretty well off...We have many pictures/photos but I know we need more, we have our script near completion, and our Flash introduction needs minor tweaking to accommodate our new title...which is still in the thought process...

Mexican Politician cheats in German Marathon
http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/americas/10/09/mexico.marathon.ap/index.html
This article is about how the Mexican politician, Roberto Madrazo, "cheated" in the Berlin marathon. He finished in 2:41:12. The officials use electronic chips to track the progress of the runners the chip said that Madrazo missed two checkpoints... The chip recorded that Madrazo ran 21 miles in 9 minutes the fastest recorded time was 41 minutes, 29 seconds, by Felix Limo of Kenya. It was highly unlikely that Madrazo ran that distance and time in a Windbreaker, hat and long, skintight running pants and at the age of 55. This caught the attention of New York-based marathon photographer Victor Sailer. He was the one that alerted marathon officials that Madrazo might be cheating. Madrazo doesn't have the cleanest record either...He is known for cheating and lying in politics, for example he was guilty of spending tens of millions of dollars more than the legal campaign spending limit and often resorted to fraud to win elections. This created a lot of distrust in the government...

PowerPoint Presentations
Today, Julian, Jesse and I had to present our Water Quality PowerPoint...We didn't really realize how much stuff (slides/info) we had...We went second and took up the rest of the period...We took so long that Anne had to stop our presentation so we could go to Second Period...I guess we just didn't realize we had so much and that the rest of the class had to take notes....

Another PowerPoint
Well, Julian, Jesse and I just finished our second PowerPoint in the same week...and will have to present tomorrow. We didn't have much time in between the two presentations and hopefully we can explain this more complex topic to get a satisfactory grade seeing how this project is 50% of our total grade in Anne's class...I think if all of us get our parts right and ready to present we should do fine...Well we'll see how the presentations go.

Latin America Independence Movement Presentations
Today, Gino and I had to present our PowerPoint on El Salvador's Independence Movement. The presentation went fairly well and we recieved a satisfactory score, but I think we could have done better had it not been for the problems with transferring the PowerPoint from place to place...but overall I think we did fairly well.
Water Quality Presentations
Today, Jesse, Julian and I started on our PowerPoint for our presentation on THURSDAY!... Jesse got done with his part which was the three physical properties of water, which took up all our work periods and almost all afternoon too, so Julian and I are going to have to finish our part of the presentation either tomorrow at school or after school...We didn't really get much time to work on this project compared to some of our other ones, but it doesn't seem that long, but we still need some time to prepare our slide show and what we are going to say/ practice...Hopefully, we can pull it off and everyone does what they are supposed to PowerPoint and information wise. We'll see how the presentations go day after tomorrow...

Powerpoint....
Well, today when I got into class, I checked my PowerPoint presentation due today and it wasn't THERE! I checked multiple folders, but couldn't find it so I talked to Spencer and gave us the printed out version we turned in on Friday to fix our slide show which was half gone...We finished it during lunch and was very close. Luckily, we didn't have to present today, so Gino and I decided to work on it after school at home to fix it up to its former glory...So when I get home, I try to access my school documents from home and just my luck...The only PowerPoint that is there is the half done one AGAIN! so I get a hold of Gino and start trying to figure out how to get it from school, we failed horribly and just decided to fix up the one we had and try to make it presentable and meet all the requirements...We'll we spent all afternoon doing that, soaking up all my time to work on other projects and Exeter...but at least we finished and hopefully we can get the full version back to school...Gino put it on a USB, sent it to himself and put it on his documents, I also sent it to myself and put it on my documents, we better not lose it...

My References so far...
Here are some of the URL's I found that would help in my research.

Lots of progress so far
So far over the weekend, we made a lot of progress on our Water Quality Project...We (Julian, Jesse and I) all have our topics that we need to finish our project. Our topic was 3 physical properties of water. I'm doing the evaporation cycle, Jesse's doing the 3 forms of water and Julian's doing surface tension of water. We have more than enough URL's to meet the 5 minimum due tomorrow.

Shapes and Independence Projects
At least today two projects got done...the Shapes Project and the Latin America Independence PowerPoint. Now we can focus on deadlines that are coming up for the Water Quality and the Beyond the Border projects...We have a lot of projects, but don't spend a whole lot of time on each one, which I think contributes to the average quality to them...because if we would have spent a little more time on each project we could have done a much more detailed and all around better job.
Woops forgot to Post yesterday....Field trip
I forgot to post because of the field trip...Gino and I found a lot of websites that helped us in our Powerpoint though...here are some of them

Projects
Well, Gino and I made great progress with our Powerpoint about El Salvador. We are almost done acquiring all our information for the Powerpoint. We will have to assemble it on Friday, since there's a field trip tomorrow to the meuseum of man in Balboa Park.
We (Jesse, Julian and I) are making some, but little, progress on our Water Quality Project...We haven't really got any information on our topic, which is three physical properties of water. We have a small concept in our minds, but really haven't done any research to how it differs from any other substance...
Shapes Project...Well, Ryan did a lot of work yesterday without me which was good and all I have to do is make a optical art piece and an Islamic tile piece and paragraphs describing them and titling them. I couldn't finish them during class today so I had to work on it at home...at home though I was having trouble with all the stuff Ryan suggested that I do, because the program hates me >.<
We have A LOT of homework

I'm Sick...
Well, today I was sick...but I e-mailed Anne and Spencer for my assignments and for the new project we started in Spencer's class today I got Gino as a partner. I e-mailed him and we split up the questions and we are going to start researching.
Beyond the Border Project is going well I guess, we aren't moving as fast as I would have hoped, but we aren't falling that far behind...We got our script critiqued again today, I guess I'll find out how that went tomorrow. I think we can finish this project and do a good job, but we really need to start moving faster...
Shapes Project, well I hope Ryan made some progress on this project today, we can't really do this project at home because we need a certain program...I'm gonna ask Anne if we can send it home and work on the project from our homes.
Water Quality Project...well I don't think Jesse or Julian had even started on this project and I don't blame them, because we need to talk about it more to make sure everyone knows what they are going to do...I plan to do that as soon as I get back to school.

Our Topic is Physical Properties of Water...
Well, for our Chemistry Mini-Project we got assigned the topic of three pertinent physical properties of water. At first, I was kinda confused on what "pertinent physical properties" were but when I looked it up, it was just three relevant properties that could be observed or measured without changing the water. Well, some physical properties that water have are like its see through and it is a liquid so it does take the shape or form that the container it's in. I think that we (Julian, Jesse and I) can find a lot of other more interesting physical properties.
